More trees for a cooler greener west:
Overview

  • The Victorian government has a target of planting 500,000 trees in Melbourne’s West, to increase the urban tree cover.

EEV is supporting schools to participate in this program, with the support of DEECA (the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action).

You can plant around the perimeter of the school or oval, or group the trees to form solid areas of vegetated shade.

We have some guidelines to help you decide where you could plant your trees.

  • All schools are required to:

    1. Complete a short online DEECA survey.

    2. Complete a brief Project Report and submit it to EEV.
EEV will then forward this to DEECA on your school’s behalf.

    3. Upload the completed Project Report to the ResourceSmart Schools online portal.
EEV’s ResourceSmart Facilitators can support your school with this.
