EINGANA 2026 EDITION - CALL FOR CONTENT
The next Eingana will be published in October 2026. The theme will centre around climate change adaptation in schools and will be titled:
“From Awareness to Action - How Schools are Adapting to the Climate Challenge”.
We’re asking: how are schools across Australia adapting to climate change?
This will be a special edition of Eingana, designed to align with COP31 (Conference of Parties) for which Australia will be the President of Negotiations. We will be casting our net wide across the country to showcase inspiring stories of schools and supporting organisations that are leading the way in climate adaptation - in classrooms, on school grounds, and through innovative teaching. From redesigning buildings and outdoor spaces, to rethinking curriculum and pedagogy - we want to hear how your school is responding to a changing climate.
Every region of Australia faces unique challenges and opportunities and your story could inspire educators nationwide.
We’re inviting stories of between 500-1200 words that highlight programs in action, positive outcomes, valuable lessons learnt, and interesting case studies from schools/teachers/students/organisations about climate adaptation in schools.
Articles need to be accompanied by 4-6 high-resolution images that have permission to be published in print and online. You will be asked to sign an Image Permission form.
Closing date for expressions of interest: 1 April, 2026.
Closing date to submit final article and images: 12 July, 2026.
Please email your expression of interest or recommendation to: communications@eev.vic.edu.au.

Eingana is the well-regarded journal of Environment Education Victoria that we have been publishing for over 40 years.
It showcases the work of environment educators around Victoria, across a range of themes and subjects, and is a publication that EEV Members receive as part of their membership. Schools receive printed copies as part of their membership. For individual members, printed copies can be purchased online here.
EEV Members also have unlimited access to the digital archive of Eingana editions.
In our 2025 issue, we explore how Victorian schools, industry and government are redefining “waste” and advancing circular economy practices. At its core, the circular economy invites us to rethink how we interact with materials. Unlike the traditional linear model of “take, make, discard,” it keeps resources in circulation for as long as possible—through reuse, repair, remanufacturing, and recycling. This approach not only reduces waste but also conserves natural resources by weaving together creativity, innovation, and education. In doing so, it unlocks a growing landscape of study and career opportunities—not just for students, but for everyone.
