ResourceSmart Schools is an award-winning program from Sustainability Victoria that assists schools to embed sustainability in everything they do, encourages real-life sustainability learning and helps schools save money.

JOIN RESOURCE SMART SCHOOLS

Environment Education Victoria provides FREE facilitation support to your school and helps you join a community of local schools taking action. We work with schools in these council areas:

  • Brimbank

  • Hobsons Bay

  • Maribyrnong

  • Melbourne (most of this council region)

  • Melton (most of this council region)

  • Moonee Valley

  • Wyndham

SUPPORT FOR SCHOOLS

When you become a ResourceSmart School, you get a dedicated facilitator to work with your school on your sustainability journey.

This support may include:

  • Regional workshops to work with other teachers once per term

  • Visits to your school to advise on the approach that suits your school

  • Staff meetings, student workshops or parent information sessions

  • Monthly newsletter full of tips, grant opportunities for schools in the west

  • Unlimited phone support

  • Celebrating and showcasing the work of your school

Created especially for the Western Metro Region, and updated yearly, the directory is here to help you get connected to local people with expert skills.

Find everything from incursions about biodiversity to excursions about waste; where to go for help to complete a water audit; or leads on where to find a grant to fund your vegetable garden. Most of the organisations listed provide their services to schools for free or at a reasonable cost.
