More trees for a cooler greener west:
Equipment

Checking Your Equipment List

It is important to have all your equipment organised and ready before your planting day.

If you don’t have everything you need, you can borrow items at no charge from EEV or from one of our project partners.

Please contact us at: info@eev.vic.edu.au for more details.

DIGGING HOLES

  • Hamilton Tree Planters make fast work of digging holes in softer soil.

  • EEV has a kit of Tree Planters to loan to schools

  • Depending on your soil, you may also need spades and trowels.

Safety

  • Wearing gardening gloves keeps little hands (and big hands) safe.

  • Contact EEV if you need help providing gloves for your students.

Watering Plants In

  • Watering cans are great for sharing the tasks between students.

  • You’ll need access to water - either a tap or hose.

  • The importance of this step can’t be underestimated.

  • EEV has a long hose on a reel and watering cans to loan to schools.

Mulching

  • A wheelbarrow is great for moving mulch efficiently, without damaging plants.
